Twitter Users Level of Trust: a Study About the Correlation of Time Spent on Twitter and Users Level of Trust
The objective of this thesis is to fill in the gap of knowledge regarding the correlation between time spent and users' level of trust, also this research is purposed to find out the Twitter users' general level of trust, and the difference between light and heavy Twitter users in term of their general trust level. This thesis is designed as a quantitative research which surveys, and using online questionnaire as the instrument to gather the data. the questionnaire, then distributed to 130 respondents that are consisted of Twitter users with the minimum of 2 years' experience in using Twitter. For the data analysis, this research is using Pearsons correlation study and t-Test. the result of this research shows that there is a weak correlation between time spent on Twitter and users' level of trust towards Twitter. Aside of that, this study also find out that trust level of Indonesian Twitter user in general, is high. Also, based on the time spent on Twitter, there is no difference between light and heavy users in term of their level of trust towards Twitter. Therefore, it could be assumed that Twitter is suitable as promotional platform. It is also recommended for the users to be more careful in trusting information that are shared on Twitter.
