Analyzing the Motivations of Twitter Followers of @TMCPOLDAMETRO
During the last years since the proliferation of Internet into our daily surrounding, it has enabled a variety of social networking sites to innovate, grow and expand. This research has two main objectives, which are to find out the motivations of Twitter followers of @TMCPoldaMetro in subscribing updates from the account and benefits gained by the subscribers after following the account. the research utilized qualitative method, by conducting focus group discussion (FGD) with seven Twitter users that subscribes to @TMCPoldaMetros updates. the result shows that majority of the followers are encouraged and motivated by the actuality of updates that @TMCPoldaMetro offered. Moreover, the comprehensiveness of the account and the elevating traffic in Jakarta has encouraged its citizens to rely on a source that are able to cater to their demands for traffic updates. Meanwhile, followers are able to benefit information on alternative routes while driving and as an additional source from the account. Therefore, followers are able to have an easier driving journey around Jakarta.
