Implementing 3D physics algorithms for a complex object: a jack-in-the-box using OpenGL
OpenGL is a bridge that connects the graphic hardware to the applications. Therefore, it is a crucial element in multimedia fields. The author chooses OpenGL as its basis for working this thesis because its vast library in graphics programming.rnrnThe purpose of this research is to implement physics formula in animation, in order to get a near real life situation in a spring model. The author's solution is to implement the physics formula using OpenGL with C programming language. The methodology to do this thesis are to build a jack-in-the-box simulation. The author needs to render the objects first before applying any physics law in it. The objects are the box, the head, and the spring. As for the animation, the author uses Hooke's law in animating the spring.
