Global positioning system based location based service with personal information management in Blackberry Java development environment
Approximately one year ago, Research In Motion (RIM), a Canadian wireless device company which is a developer for BlackBerry Smart Phones opens up its Application Programming Interfaces (API) to the developers. This event raises the growth of application development in BlackBerry device to a different level. During the next year, the BlackBerry device is successfully entering the Indonesian market, and the following year would dominate the mobile device sales in Indonesia. This opportunity attracts developers to start developing an application in BlackBerry environment. In response to this opportunity, it is a challenge for me to implement the Location Based Service (LBS) and Mapping technology and adapt to market requirements in BlackBerry Java Development Environment (JDE). Furthermore, this thesis can also be used as the guide in developing BlackBerry application in the future.
