Development of a multi-platform mobile application for university timetable
Timetable is a important part of a university. Student can check which class to attend and at which room from the timetable. The timetable is generated from a stand alone scheduling optimization application. The application will create an HTML file that will be embedded in the university website. After conducting a research a few problem are found in the current timetable system. The first problem is current timetable is not mobile phones friendly, it is not convenient to view the timetable via a mobile browser. The second problem is if there any change in the timetable the current system cannot notify the student, because of this the Faculty Academic Officer must tell the student via email if there is any change in the timetable. Proposed solution for this problem is implementing a multi platform mobile university timetable application that can be easily accessed via mobile phone. The application also have a functionality that can alter the timetable, and notify the student about the alteration.
