The Enhancement of e-KTP (electronic - national identity card) usage as voter identity card in national e-voting system

The purpose of this research is to enhance the function of identity card (e-KTP) in Indonesia to be use in national e-voting system. The e-KTP will be use to verified and authenticate the voter as legitimate voter and to make sure a voter can only vote once in the assigned polling station (TPS). This research will have several benefits, such as reducing cost of paper like in the traditional system, increase reliability and efficiency on counting the result of voting. The methodology used in this research based literature review regarding smart card, e-voting system, government rules about e-voting, and International Standard for smart card. The other methodology used based on meeting with BPPT, Hardware benchmarking, Designing and Prototyping Application. In conclusion, enhancing the existing e-KTP to be used for e-voting will need to redesign the data structure of e-KTP itself. The purpose of redesigning is to create a more efficient data structure to fulfill the e-Voting system needs with a minor change on the e-KTP data structure.
