The development of automatic flow controller for festo hydraulics laboratory at Swiss German University
As part of a mechatronic system, hydraulic system plays an important role. Hydraulic systems are designed to move large loads by controlling a high-pressure fluid in distribution lines and pistons with mechanical and electromechanical valves. In addition to controlling fluid pressure, sometimes it is also necessary to control the hydraulic fluid flow rate. By controlling the fluid flow rate, it is possible for the mechatronic engineers to design a system that requires a perfectly timed actuation.rnrnThis thesis work demonstrates how an automatic flow control system is implemented using a manual flow control valves as a final control element, a dc motor as an actuator, a plc as a controller and a multi-turn potentiometer as a position feedback sensor.
