Implementation of the clnp (connectionless network protocol) packet in the routing process for the forwarding function in atn (aeronautical telecommunication network)
Indonesia has wide air space with many aircrafts flies every day. Therefore Indonesia has to manage its air traffic effectively and efficiently. For this reason, Indonesia must have the Communication Navigation Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS / ATM) system. This system includes communication, navigation and surveillance systems that use digital technologies to support the air traffic management system. For communication system, an Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) is used to provide the digital data link to supplement the voice communication. To develop this system, an ATN router is required. It manages the networks among ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast) receivers (ground to ground) and between ADS-B receivers and the aircraft (air-to-ground).rnrnIn ATN, the core of the protocol is Connectionless Network Protocol (CLNP), which is located in the network layer of OSI layer. The purposes of this research are to implement routing function that will focus on the forwarding Protocol Data Unit (PDU) function and to compose the Request Address PDU (RA PDU) and Assign Address PDU (AA PDU) for routing exchange protocol between End System (ES) and Intermediate System (IS).rnrnThis thesis is implemented based on our CLNP design that refers to the ISO 8473 and IP (Internet Protocol) design. Furthermore, this research is implemented in Linux kernel 2.6.x. In conclusion, the program is capable of processing the CLNP packet forwarding before sending it to the device and implement composing RA PDU and AA PDU in the routing exchange protocol.
