Entrepreneurial Requirements for a Local Subsidiary to Operate in a Transnational Corporation
Today's international corporations must be able to operate locally and successfully in all corners of the world. This thesis aims to establish the entrepreneurial requirements for the subsidiaries of these corporations to operate in their local business environment. The research is done on the example of ABB Indonesia.nThe methodology used covers literature research, interviews with subsidiary management of international companies in Indonesia, interviews with management of ABB and analysis of ABB Indonesia. A list of requirements was established and it was found that a high quality of the country manager constitutes the most crucial requirement for the successful operation of the subsidiaries.nThe conclusion is that the corporations regulate much of the subsidiaries' operations in order to control, and the entrepreneurial spirit in the subsidiaries may get lost. The work also concludes that regulations and directives have no value if excellent management through the entire structure is not provided at all times.
