A business model in the centralized distribution process of drugs' distributors in Indonesia
The condition encountered is relatively low health treatment in Indonesia. Problems identified are unavailability of drugs, poor quality drugs and irrational used of drugs. Prolong Indonesian economic difficulty increases price, cost of distributing, inadequacy for control of drugs and health related products and insufficiency for health information to community.nnThe author observes that prevailing distribution practices has not evolved with development of distribution channel theories. Recent trends towards computerized and centralized control have only been partially implemented in distribution industry. The existing phenomenon is a take off point to test various theories and practices that can improve artificial effectiveness of processes.nnElaboration and suitability of established global theories and practices in industry leads a conclusion that centralized distributors may overcome identified problems associated with distribution processes. Association, a chosen form of organization may reduce price of drugs, minimize cost of distribution, additional layers for quality control and extension for information.
