Implementation of Smart Card in Java Card Environment for Electronic Transaction Security
Since the widespread of the Internet and recent explosion of Electronic Commerce, online shopping becomes as usual as shopping in the supermarket. As this business grow, the problem occur, online crime especially credit card hacking is very common. Today technology that commonly used in electronic online transaction both online or offline is insecure. All information needed for secure transaction exposed in card directly or indirectly. This makes current credit card crime rate grow rapidly.nnThe capabilities of smart card with Java Card platform to do data processing routine as well as encryption, decryption, generate key pair and digital signature inside card makes smart card the right tool for securing electronic transaction. The power smart card will enrich with challege response key authentication scheme that natively is strong authentication scheme.nnThis thesis will give reasonably wide picture of all the technologies and techniques involved in the task. The research as a part of this thesis also used to study the feasibility of Java Card platform to do challenge response authentication scheme. After which we move to the the benefit and drawback from using challenge response authentication scheme with Java Card as well as the smart card implementation problem are then summarized in the conclusions part.n
