A dc-motor speed and positioning control using pc-parallel port
The main idea of this thesis is to control the speed and position of DC motor using parallel port as the interfacing device. Thus by running the program from computer, the speed and position of DC motor can be automatically controlled. The motor utilized is motor generator set which is one package with tachogenerator from Mechatronic Laboratory. The experiment started from establishing circuit of pulse width modulator, digital to analog converter, analog to digital converter, and finally the program. Each part of circuits is then set up together as a speed control circuit. The experiment proved that as the voltage increases, the speed of motor is also increase. Small error only occurred at the conversion of decimal to binary or hexadecimal at ADC and DAC circuits.rn
