Conversion of classroom course materials into e-learning content: case study of an English course at Swiss German University
A part of English classroom course materials at Swiss German University are converted into online learning contents. The conversion is experimentally done in order to determine appropriate methods and tools to create online learning. Instructional strategies selection and materials development, the two out of six phases in Instructional System Design model developed by Walter Dick and Lou Carey, are referred. To formulate the instructional strategies, R. Gagne's nine events of instruction are used. Subsequently, Authorware, Hot Potatoes, and Flash are experimentally applied to develop the online materials before the usage of Authorware is overtly explored. Results of the conversion are given.
