Design and implementation of a microcontroller-based mobile robot in a surveillance system
Mobile robots are being used for various types of application. They can be simply made for toys as hobbies. More specialized mobile robots can perform services such as moving objects and defusing bombs. This thesis is focused on building a mobile robot that can be implemented in a surveillance system. Controlling the mobile robot is done through a computer by the operator. To provide real time visual information a wireless video camera is used. Serving as the brain in the mobile robot is an AT89S51 microcontroller which controls the mobile robot movements and behaviors. Sensors are used for collision avoiding purpose.
