The analysis of the influence of organization culture on job satisfaction: a case study of a private small natural gas distribution company
Nowadays employees of a company are coming from many different backgrounds. They are coming from different level of education, ethnics, cultures and religions. So it is obvious that they have their own individual norms, believes, and ethics about how they interact between each other. When they joint together in a one company their individual characteristic will blend together into a form of shared culture that according to numerous literatures calls organization culture.rnrnThere are many factors that influence the level of job satisfaction of employees. One of the factors is regarding the organization culture at the company where those employees work rn rnThe objectives of study were to find any significant influence of organization culture of the company on the job satisfaction of the employees, to analyze the factual condition of the employee's perception regarding organization culture, and to analyze the employee's perception of how the company manages the condition of their employees especially regarding the level of job satisfaction. rnTherefore the research variables for this thesis is organization culture (Independent variable) and job satisfaction (dependent variable). The research was conducted by analyzing primary data that collected by using saturated sampling method at PT. Energasindo Heksa Karya by using questionnaires with Likert's scale. rnrnThe statistical analysis is using both descriptive method and simple linier regression statistical formulas. The statistical formulas consist of coefficient of correlation, coefficient of determination, simple linear regression, and hypothesis testing with t-test calculation.rnrnBefore analyzing the data from questionnaires, validity and a reliability test procedure for research instruments of both variables had been conducted. And it was found that there were one instrument from organization culture variable and two instruments from job satisfaction variable that were not valid, therefore those instruments are not used on further statistical analysis. rnrnThe descriptive approach shows that for organization culture variable the responds from the respondents are relatively positive with only several points in the questioner that need to be improved which are regarding; vertically communication process and the working procedures in the company. rnrnThe results of simple regression statistical calculation were, firstly Coefficient of correlation was showing a 0.272 (R) which can be interpreted as a positive and weak correlation between the independent variable and dependent variable. Secondly the coefficient of determination / variability (R2) is 7.4%, which means that job satisfaction was influenced 7.4% by organization culture and 92.6% was influenced by other factors such as wages, incentive, type of industry and office location that were not being involved and observed in this thesis. The result of hypothesis testing shows that there was an influence of organization culture on job satisfaction. Since the t-test hypothesis testing was showing the t-count values of 1.355 that is greater than t-table values of 1.319 with the level of confidence of 90% (? = 0.1) with the degree of freedom of (df) =23.
