Analysis of migration from a cashier system to a teller system in the traditional bank perkreditan rakyat to improve efficiency
Bank Perkreditan Rakyat is a unique bank type in Indonesia. Unlike commercial banks that generally serve the middle to upper class market, BPRs serve the middle to lower class of the society. Traditionally, BPRs are using the cashier system in their business process. However, recently some BPRs already adopt the system of the commercial banks, the teller system.rnrnOne primary question that needs to be addressed is whether a change to the teller system is actually a good move that will increase the efficiency. Knowing the answer of this could give BPRs many benefits, because choosing a system will affect many things in the business process.rnrnTo research this problem, of course the thing that needs to be analyzed is how well each system performs within the BPR's primary function, Credit Lending. In this thesis, a thorough analysis will be made to compare which system would be best for a BPR.rnrnAfter the study, it can be concluded that for the present BPR the best system to use is still the cashier system. In terms of efficiency and intangible benefits, cashier system still prevails compared to the teller system.rnrnHowever, considering the benefits that can be obtained by using the teller system, the thesis also covers recommendation for BPRs to apply the teller system better.
