A field study of entrepreneurship in the handicraft industry in kasongan village, yogyakarta: the internationalization process
The objective of this research was to identify the internationalization process in Small and Medium Enterprises in Kasongan, a renowned pottery cluster in Yogyakata province. Primary data were collected through questionnaires from 43 entrepreneurs and 15 in-depth interviews were taken from the questionnaire respondents. The interviews also conducted with the Regional Head of Cooperation, Manufacture and Trade Service and Head of Executants Unit to discover the contribution of government institutions in internationalization process.rnrnBased on the U-Model, this research found that Kasongan cluster markets the products internationally via independent agents. Next, the I-Model explained that most of the enterprises in this study were on the active involvement" and "committed involvement" stages which had export ratio to sales 10-39% and more than 40% respectively.
