Mechanical design, construction and kinematic data computation of a working model of the tornado" ride"
The main purpose of this thesis is to design and construct the working model of Tornado. This requires in-depth knowledge on robotic mechanism, mechanical engineering, and mechanics of material. The working model of Tornado is designed using the aid of a CAD program. The design considers several perspectives such as: physical aspect, mechanism and electrical pathway. The physical aspect deals with dimensions and material selection. The mechanism is evaluated through position analysis. The electrical pathway design routes several low power electrical lines from the gondola out of the mechanical construction without getting coiled or tangled. The working model of Tornado is finally realised even though there are still imperfections.
