Design and implementation of the cotp (connection oriented transport protocol) packet data unit transmission in atn (aeronautical telecommunication network)

Fahmi, Husni - Personal Name; Liemarga, Erick - Personal Name;

ATN is a technology which is planned to be the backbone that connects aircraft, air traffic control and airline operations facilities as mandated by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). ATN implements CLNP as its network protocol and COTP (Connection Oriented Transport Protocol)/CLTP (Connectionless Oriented Transport Protocol) as its transport protocols. rnIn this thesis we implement COTP as part of ATN router development. All the implementation is written in C programming language and integrated to Linux kernel version 2.6.21 as a test module. Furthermore, we focus on the transmitting functionality in COTP to send TPDUs (Transport Protocol Data Units) from transport layer to layer below it. However, our composed TPDUs are sent through LLC (Logical Link Communication) instead of CLNP because the CLNP module is not ready to be used. We have successfully composed various TPDUs and sent it over network device with the destined MAC address.
