Implementation of cltp (connectionless transport protocol) packet data unit transmission in atn (aeronautical telecommunication network)
In this thesis, we implement CLTP transmission functions for utilization in ATN based on ISO/IEC 8602 (1995) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) SARPs (Standards and Recommended Practices) documentation in the Linux kernel 2.6.21. The implementation is significant due to the establishment of the new ATN technology in aeronautical field throughout the world including Indonesia. ATN is planned to be the backbone network that will connect aircraft, air traffic control and airline operations facilities as mandated by the ICAO in 1998. CLTP is one of the transport layer protocols (4th of the OSI layers) that run above the network layer (3rd of the OSI layers) in the ATN, CLNP (Connectionless Network Protocol). Each of CLTP function has been implemented using C programming language as a kernel module and loaded manually into the Linux kernel 2.6.21. Furthermore, the CLTP transmission directly connected to the data link layer (using LLC as the protocol), since the CLNP connection with upper layer has not been implemented yet.rnrnWe successfully implemented the CLTP transmission functions to encapsulate the user data into CLTP packet data unit and send it over the network to device with the destined MAC address. In conclusion, this thesis proves that packet data unit transmission in CLTP has been successfully designed based on ISO/IEC 8602 (1995) and ICAO SARPs (2002) Sub Volume 5 documentations.
