Analysis of higher education in Indonesia compared to Singapore in the perspective of foreign students
Globalization has created significant changes in education development. As a matter of fact, many foreign students come across to Asia to continue their study. Therefore, universities in Asia should make higher education systems more globally competitive. The international acknowledgement is achieved by Singapore education as one of the best. However, its neighbor country, Indonesia seems in the opposite situation. Both countries of course have its advantages and disadvantages as a destination for study. In order to gather deeper understanding of foreign students preferences toward higher education in both countries, the significant factors such as their basic reason and personal preferences in selecting destination and universities in Singapore and Asia should be determined. The purpose of this study is primarily to explore the foreign students' preferences in studying in Indonesian and Singapore University as well as determine the perception of quality of higher education in Indonesia and Singapore regarding to personal assessment by foreign students. The study is conducted by using primary and secondary data. The primary data is being taken by having an interview with respondents, and the secondary data is obtained from literature research and other secondary resources. The approach used in this study is qualitative in nature.
