Analysis of PT X's revenue, before and after offering ringback tone service

Djuaeriah, Neneng - Personal Name; Radityo, Ditto Anggar - Personal Name;

For years, music has existed in our life. The contribution of music is a magnificent. This is true since the existence of music; many people feel that they need it as supplement in life. As opportunity seeks, businesses caught up with the idea of putting music into business. At that point, music could generate income. Therefore, music labels were created. In the past, a South Korean mobile operator, SK telecom, made cooperation with music labels in its country. The cooperation created a new product called RBT (ring back tone). Unexpectedly, RBT service creates a lot of money in a matter of months. This became valuable information for both music labels and mobile operator in every country. According to PT. X, its general revenue fluctuated from 2003 to 2007. Even, in the 2005, PT. X's growth was less than the previous year. Surprisingly, in 2006 there is was huge gap for both revenue and its growth. The thesis purpose is to check the revenue of PT. X before and after using RBT service. On the mobile operator side, their revenue is increasing. Is the same terms applied to PT. X as music labels which, of course, provide songs to RBT service? By looking at PT. X's income statement, it is proven that revenue from RBT is quite big both in value and in growth, especially for the first year implementation and the revenue is still increasing. On the other hand, revenue from mechanical productions (cassette, CD, DVD) is decreasing at the latest year. In conclusion, RBT drive PT. X to make a new plan; contribute as many as possible songs to RBT business.
