Prototyping and analyzing a system to control the attack angle of turbine blades
Eventhough the development of national electricity in Indonesia rapidly increased, but in the reality it does not reach the remote villages. The reason is that the establishment of electricity network to reach the remote villages is much more expensive than the revenues gained from the customers. Therefore a simple small scale turbine blades is considered to be the best solution to provide electricity for the remote village communities. To achieve a simple and an efficient turbine, the turbine is equipped with adjustable blades that can be controlled. The turbine use incremental encoder as a sensor to analyze the water flow and to control movement of the blades. The blades will adjust after analyzing the water flow. DC motor and lead screw mechanism will be use as an actuator to move the blades.
