Analysis and improvement of Swiss German University - automated guided vehicle robot
The main purpose of this thesis is to improve the existence SGU Automated Guided Vehicle so it might be used for industrial purposes. Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) is a mobile robot for industrial application to move materials around a manufacturing facility or warehouse. The SGU AGV is driven by DC motors and controlled by motor drivers to move forward and backward. This AGV used electrical energy from 12V batteries to drive the DC motors. Data acquisition module was used to acquire data from sensors and send the data to PC so it can be processed by the computer. Optical encoder is installed to measure the speed of the driving system DC motors. This AGV has infrared proximity sensors for obstacle detector system and a webcam for surveillance purposes. The AGV will be controlled by user from main PC using a joystick and the data will be transmitted to the AGVs PC from wireless connection using Bluetooth?.
