Designing and constructing a model of metal nut sorting and counting machine with storage
This thesis was planned to make a sorting system which able to separate nuts. The purpose is to sort several sized of nut and different material to its storage. This thesis firstly starts by designing the processing line, also the mechanical structure of the device. Strain gauge sensor is used to know the weight different for each nut. A DC motor is control to spin bidirectional to deliver the nut into the right hole and another sorting is done using magnetic conveyor to separate the ferrous nut and non-ferrous nut using permanent magnet. To distribute the nut according to its size, the author decides to use three conveyors. Each conveyor is used to sort the nut with one particular size. The model is equipped with five DC motors and infrared to count the number of falling nut which is going into the storage.
