Designing and constructing shuttle roller coaster miniature
The thesis project is intended to design and construct a model of shuttle roller coaster which by definition does not make a complete circuit. Unlike other common roller coasters which start by dragging the trains up to high hills and release them, this ride will start travelling from its base which is on the lower level. The train travels along the track, goes up until a certain height, and travels backward to its base through the same track as it is departed. An amount of kinetic energy is needed in order the train be able to ascend to that certain height, and the speed is built up by having series of wheels which act like a propeller. Each of the wheels rotates at different speed, and dc motors are used to drive the wheels. Limit sensor is embedded in the system to make those wheels rotate reversely as the train travels back.
