Designing a human machine interface (hmi) system for the transferring and stamping station and analyzing of igss and wincc software
The main objective of this thesis is to design a computerized Human Machine Interface (HMI) system for the existing Transferring and Stamping Station using SIMATIC WinCC software and comparing some aspects of SIMATIC WinCC and Interactive Graphical SCADA System (IGSS) HMI software. The graphical user interface represents and simulates the process of the real station so the operator is able to control and monitor some process parameters of the real station remotely. A SIMATIC S7-300 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is used to control the real station. Beside that, MPI communication protocol is used as the communication interface to the HMI computerized system. Moreover, this thesis work also analyzes the general features of IGSS and WinCC. Some topics regarding the communication driver, interfacing with S7-300 and tagging are discussed and the comparison between IGSS and WinCC is provided. In addition, the thesis work also explains the testing and result of the HMI system's design.
