Designing and constructing an automatic machine for inspecting the hydrostatic endurance of 3-kilogram lpg canisters
The purpose of this thesis is to construct a machine that facilitates the inspection process of the hydrostatic endurance of 3-kg LPG canisters. The design of the machine is developed and simplified from the previous similar machines, which are also referring to the regulation from the industrial ministry of Indonesia about the production process and quality control of 3-kg LPG canisters. The hydrostatic endurance of an LPG canister is inspected by detecting water leakage while it is being compressed by 31 bars of water pressure for at least 30 seconds. This thesis is focusing on the work design of the mechanical system and the electro-pneumatics control system design, which is controlled by a smart relay. The objectives of this thesis has been accomplished, the constructed hydrostatic testing machine is capable to carry out 50,000 inspected 3-kg LPG canisters every month.
