Designing an innovative water pump system using variable speed control for power saving
The primary purpose of this thesis work is to design a system of water pump to improve power saving by application of Variable Speed Drive (VSD). An inverter is used as a driver of AC-Motor which is the actuator of water pump. A closed-loop PID Controller controls the speed of motor according to the load profile. The result of this thesis is the closed-loop water pump system from the parameters read by the measurement device. The result shows the energy is saved better than without speed control according to the load profile. Moreover, analyses about characteristic of pump are discussed.
