The Study of consumer's perception and decision making on health issues of junk food
The purpose of this thesis is to study about the consumer perception and decision making on health issues of junk food. The phenomenon of junk food all over the world becomes one of the controversial topics to discuss. Some of the people have a perception that if they eat junk food frequently, it will cause obesity. Some of them did not care about that. The methodology of this thesis is a combination between inductive and descriptive research. The data is gathered through the quantitative data which is from the questionnaire that spread by street survey and e-mail survey. This thesis used Z-test, T-test and confidence interval to analyze the data from the questionnaire. The result of this research question number 1 is the consumers have very low knowledge of the effect of fast food on their health. From the research question number 2, the result is the respondents do not know the knowledge of health but concern about the health. The result from research question number 3 is for the respondents in age group of 16 - 17, 18 - 19, and 24 - 25, they do not consider the health factor when they choosing junk food for their meal, and for the respondents in age group of 20 - 21 and 22 - 23, this group might be considered the health factor when they choosing junk food.
