Designing and constructing an automatic guitar tuner
This thesis presents the design and construction of Automatic Guitar Tuner - a microcontroller-based instrument to tune a guitar. The goal of this work is to build an instrument to support musical learning in tuning a guitar. The steps that involved in designing the automatic guitar tuners are the implementation of analog filter and digital processing, signal conditioning, and electric drive implementation as the actuator. The guitar string frequency is recognized and analyzed as the input to generate the output for the system. The process in this particular system is to converts analog signals into digital messages as the input. The input then processed in the processor using threshold crossing method to analyze its frequency. As the output, this system controls servo motor to produce motion that able to rotate the guitar knob to tune the string.
