Conditioning of intake air in gas turbine power plant to increase efficiency
The main purpose of this thesis is to increase efficiency in gas turbine power plant which is represented by power output and heat rate. Due to the temperature sensitivity of gas turbine is high and yet air temperature during summer season in Indonesia is high, conditioning of intake air should be implemented to overcome this problem. Two different types of conditioning of intake air, evaporation and fogging system will be analyzed in this thesis. Evaporation system decreases the air temperature with utilization of wetted media. Fogging system decreases the air temperature with increasing humidity. In conclusion, high efficiency in gas turbine power plant which is determined by high power output and low heat rate can be obtained.
