Anthony, Randy - Personal Name; Lim, Charles - Personal Name;

Some companies and researches around the world have used honeypot for certain purpose. Especially in the malware research, honeypot can be used to collect malware samples. Malwares that can be collected by honeypot are malwares that can automatically spread themselves through network. This kind of malwares usually are very dangerous and sophisticated malware. Thought it should be caught immediately to be analyzed and found an antidote for that malware. Therefore if a honeypot able to catch that kind of malware in a short time, the countermeasure can be prepared immediately. To choose the right honeypot, we must survey the possible honeypot nowadays and pick the one that is the most effective to the condition of resources and network infrastructure. While there are many types of honeypot out there, Nepenthes is chosen because it is efficient and suit for the condition of resources for this research.
