Designing and constructing linear motor launcher system
Linear motor launcher system is the main topic of this thesis. This system replaces the conventional rotary motor from a rotary motion to a linear motion with a mechanical system. The principal of this system is using magnetic forcernfrom the stator and rotor interaction to produce a linear motion. As the main controller device using a microcontroller and switching induction system. Linear motor system is an advanced technology replacing the mechanicalrnrotary to linear converter system, because linear motor system is using magnetic force, it is less of maintenance like mechanical system. Another advantage of this system is produced a bigger starting acceleration than otherrnmechanical converter system. The well known launcher technology before linear motor is steam piston catapult. This catapult system also can give a high starting acceleration, but this catapult system uses lo of water and needsrna huge place. Linear motor system doesn?t need a huge place and less of water. Linear motor system has disadvantages, this system need a large amount of power supply and expensive in construction than other catapultrnsystem.
