Redesigning and improving the pcb drilling machine as engraving machine
In PCB Manufacturing, etching process takes very important role. The PCBrnengraving machine is developed as a substitution to manual etching process, whichrntakes a lot of time. Engraving is a process of chasing a specific design on a hardrnsurface, such as metal, stone or wood. This process can be used to removernunnecessary copper on a plane circuit board and therefore create desired tracks onrnPCB.rnOnce the PCB layout in CAD software from the PC is transferred to the machine, rnthe cutting tool begins tracing the pattern of the layout. The movement of therncutting tool is controlled through computerized programming. The depth of cutrnmust be controlled to remove the same amount from the material the image is beingrnengraved upon. This is done by using the concept of floating engraving process, inrnwhich an additional slider and lead screw in the Z-plane movement mechanism isrnattached to. For X-Y movement, the cutting tool is designed to move according tornwhat the PCB design in CAD software.
