Analysis, synthesis & discrete event simulation to increase productivity of pump packaging system
This project is conducted in PT BUMI CAHAYA UNGGUL (BCU) located in Kawasan Industri Pulo Gadung, Jakarta. PT. BUMI CAHAYA UNGGUL assembles various pumps. The company expands its facilities to increase production capacity. The major problem faced by the company is insufficient production capacity in fulfilling the demand. Therefore, PT BCU expands the workshop but has no fixed layout design yet. The alternative layout will be proposed using Systematical Layout Planning (SLP). The evaluation of the old layout design will be using ARENA software to simulate and identify the bottleneck during the fabrication. This thesis project is targeted to design an alternative layout for expanded workshop in PT. BCU that could assist to increase production capacity. Based on the best layout alternative, the master draft of layout will be generated and can be consider as a recommendation.
