Micro enterprises have an important role in the national economy in Indonesia through its contribution to the GDP, employment and number of units in every sector. In contrary, banks in Indonesia are still hesitant to disburse loan to the sector due the assumption that the sector has a high risk. This thesis examines the correlation between loan disbursement to micro sector and its effect towards state owned bank profitability. As measurement for the bank?s profitability this research intentionally used the development of operating income. Additional financial statement analysis will also be done to explain the company performance. Throughout the research, there have been several findings obtained. There has been a significant growth in loan disbursement to the micro sector in PT. Bank X, there has been a significant growth n the development of operating income of PT. Bank X, the correlation between loan disbursement to micro sector and the development of operating income has been proven to be positive and significant. Here it must be mentioned that in 2008 whereas global financial crisis occurred, the growth of loan disbursement to the micro sector reached the highest point. These findings help to convince bank to disburse loan to micro sector to gain profit.
