The impact of exchange rates on the indonesian balance of payment
The purpose of this research is to study the importance of Rupiah in their relation tornthe performance of Indonesian Balance of Payment. For the first hypothesis of thisrnresearch, the author would like to see whether Rupiah movement has affected thernBalance of Payment of Indonesia. For the second hypothesis, the author adds anotherrnperspective from the role of Bank Indonesia to see whether Bank Indonesia has playedrna big role in the currency stabilization. The time period for the study is 2006 ? 2010,rnwith the data analyzed quarterly.rnTo achieve the desirable outcome, trend Analysis and Pearson Correlation Test isrnemployed to study the relationship between exchange rates and the balance ofrnpayment. The conclusions from this research are Rupiah did not affect the Balance ofrnPayment of Indonesia throughout the period and for the second hypothesis, BankrnIndonesia had a big role in order to keep the currency stabilized throughout the period.
