Examining the relationship between power distance and perception of empowerment (case study: Hotel A, B, C, D)
This research focused on the influence of power distance on the relationship of empowerment. The main objective of this research is to determine whether power distance has any correlations with empowerment and how the two relationship manifest between each other. Data for this research was using a questionnaire which consisted of a Likert scale ranging from 1-4. A case study of 4 hotels in Jakarta was conducted. Data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis and it was used to test the hypothesis. To find out the level of power distance in each hotel, cross tabulation in spss was used. From the regression analysis, it was concluded that power distance does have a correlation with empowerment. In order for empowerment to be achieved in hotels, there has to be a balanced level of power distance.
