Development of a home-telecardiography and body temperature measurement system using labview and xbee for patient monitoring
Telemedicine is a rapidly developed application of clinical medicine where medical information is transferred through certain networks for the purpose of consulting and remote medical procedures with patient's comfort as one of the advantages. Seeing the trend of telemedicine in health care, this research develops a telecardiography application and body temperature measurement system using LabVIEW software. The application measures and records human heartbeat and body temperature with separated device and monitor. The data is transmitted through Zigbee communication. The transmission range is up to 28 m indoor when it is unobstructed. The output displays ECG waveform chart and body temperature (┬░C) with 94.44% accuracy of temperature reading. The data is stored as .txt file and recorded automatically as the application runs and the file naming is arranged based on date and time.
