Business process re-engineering in pre maintenance planning of base maintenance at PT. Garuda Maintenance Facilities Aeroasia
Nowadays in this competitive era, where the gaps between the competitors are very tight, it becomes mandatory that PT. Garuda Maintenance Facilities AeroAsia needs to continuously improve to stay a step ahead in the competition. The above reality becomes the background of why Business Process Re-engineering should be performed in the operational level of the company, whereas if handling the work in pre maintenance planning operation takes long duration, it will cause delayed time of the customer aircraft entering the hangar to follow through with the maintenance process. In developing this thesis project the author used the methodology adapted from the Business Process Re-engineering Cycle framework. After doing the step by step processes following the methodology steps, the current business process work flow of the pre maintenance planning operation is than evaluated and analysed using the parameters of process raw processing time (lead time), process cycle time, and process through put (output). Base on the analysis and evaluation of the current condition process, the author proposed several scenarios that have been re engineered from the current business process condition. The conclusion of this thesis project is based on discussion and brain storming with employees of the company, on which proposed scenario is most suitable to be implemented by the company. With the completion of this project, to move forward and bring more benefit, we propose that the Business Process Re-engineering can be done in Maintenance Execution and Post Maintenance project to broaden the effect of Business Process Re-engineering, also the data analysis can be enriched with the analysis and evaluation from cost and revenue after Business Process Re-engineering is completed
