Development of home patient monitoring system using Android-based smart phone in Indonesia
The development of homecare vital sign parameters is to make a device which is Android compatible. The device uses sensor and electronic development platform which are capable of sensing human vital sign parameters; temperature and Blood Pressure (BP). This uses conversion methods of temperature using Steinhart Hart equation modified with B parameter from to convert binary reading of Arduino to ┬░C in Android. Blood pressure sensor is calibrated with mercurial sphygmomanometer to produce direct conversion to mmHg. Then peak detection using oscillometric method is applied to find Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP), Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) and Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP). The testing of 41 subjects with this device is accompanied by a doctor comparing temperature measurement with mercurial thermometer along with Vitsens thermometer, produces 96% accuracy with deviation of ┬▒1┬░C for Vitsens thermometer. On the other hand there is comparison of blood pressure measurement between doctor, Vitsens and Automatic Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor (AWBPM) measuring device. SBP measurement from Vitsens produces 85% accuracy with deviation of ┬▒12 mmHg while DBP measurement is producing 85% accuracy with deviation of ┬▒8 mmHg.
