The effect of the implementation of active learning method in defensive driving training
Dwi Sarana Dijaya (DSD) is a company specializing in providing defensive driving training. Recently, DSD has adopted the Active Learning Method (ALM), which is a more interactive method of training in comparison to the more conventional method that was used in the past. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the implementation of ALM gives a positive impact to the training by comparing evaluation results from training sessions before and after the implementation of ALM. Another aim is to identify individually the participants? responses towards the training aspects within the defensive driving program. This research uses quantitative-comparative method by assessing the participants? feedback forms from sessions before and after the implementations of ALM. Data collected is processed and compared by using Paired T-Test using SPSS 20 software. According to the statistic test results, there are significant differences between the data before and data after the implementation of ALM. To further explain the results, interview sessions are conducted with a team leader and a senior instructor from DSD.
