Designing and implementing a data logger as a driving behavior monitoring system in a motorcycle
In Indonesia, the main method of transportation is motorcycle. The availability of motorcycles combined with the lack of public transportation and that not every household can afford to buy a car, contribute to the large number of motorcyclists in Indonesia. Many of the motorcyclists however, are either unskilled, unregulated, or both. Those kinds of driver are dangerous to themselves and to others. One possible solution to this issue is by using a data logger to record the driving behavior of reckless riders. The recorded data can be used by the police to evaluate drivers requesting for license or by forensics to better understand the circumstances behind an accident. The data logger designed in this thesis work is capable or recording basic driving behavior and this work can be used as a basis for further development of data loggers.
