Designing and Constructing Automatic Self-Tuning Electric Bass Guitar
This thesis presents the design, construction and development of the automatic self-tuning electric bass guitar-musical instrument that is able to set the tone into standard tuning. the purpose of this work is to design and construct a modification of existing musical instrument and to automate tuning process for musical instrument player. the steps that are involved in developing the automatic self-tuning electric bass guitar are: constructing an electric bass guitar with the mechanical modification, the implementation of analog signal and digital signal processing using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and developing Auto-tuner mechanism using DC servomotor. in the tuning system, guitar strings frequency is sampled and processed using FFT method as the input to trigger the actuator until reference tone is achieved.
