Implementing Color Monitoring in an Existing Paint Filling and Mixing Machine
The purpose of this thesis is to create a system which is capable of controlling paint color with paint filling and paint mixing system. This thesis is adapting the concept and implementing in an existing paint filling and mixing machine from the previous thesis. Modification in mechanical aspect is performed in order to integrate the machine with the new filling, mixing, and color capturing system. the new filling system is using gravimetric method, which use peristaltic pumps to deliver the colorants. the mixing method is adopted from the previous thesis, which is using single axis rotation of mixer blade. the color capturing system required a dark space and constant environment in order to generate a constant result. Moreover, the result of color capturing system is being monitored. Whenever the color is not match with the desired color, additional colorant will be added in order to create a close-loop system. the result shows a low speed process due to the mechanical aspect. It is recommended to integrate the system with detail of materials specification.
