Designing and Constructing Actuator for a Chess Playing Robot in Form of Scara Manipulator With Uci Compatibility
Chess is a game that has been played for hundreds of years. Nowadays, people try to play with the machine to increase ones skill in chess game. There is even a competition for the machine. the objective of the thesis is to improve the previous chess playing robot to increase its performance in terms of speed and accuracy. the UCI (Universal Chess Interface) message is delivered into the microcontroller via Serial Communication and the UCI is translated into the movement for the robot. the microcontroller that is used in this thesis project is ArduinoMega 2560. the actuator used to actuate the movement is scara hands with a linear actuator as z-axis on the edge of it.
