Recommissioning SGU's existing assembly station of the FMS 102 Festo model for further research and development
An FMS 102 is a training module for a flexible manufacturing system built by FESTO didactic. This FMS 102 is located in the SGU Automation Laboratory. The previous condition of this FMS 102 is cannot be used due to the unknown reason. The thesis objective is to reactivate the Assembly Station and established the communication with Testing Station. To achieve these purposes, FST 3.22 is used as the programming tools in the thesis project. The FST 3.22 is used to create a project which consists of process sequence, driver module, and Process Field Bus Message Specification (PROFIBUS) as the communication protocol. In the end, the process was completed as desired and a synchronized process can be achieved.
