Designing and implementing SGU information security policy

Information holds an important value for any organization, it can contain information that shared with public or sensitive information that only certain people in the organization can have access to it. Swiss German University as an educational organization also should concern with its information that must be managed and protect from any risks, where risks can also come from the improper use of a system by the user. In this thesis, the author will design security policy and guidelines as a part of information security. The focus of the policy is on three parts, SGU e-mail, SGU web, and SGU student data. The designing policy will be adopting from ISO/IEC 27002 code of practices as a baseline. The result of the thesis will be a formal written policy and guidelines with the objective to give direction for users regarding the proper use of SGU email, SGU web, and SGU student data.
