Building and controlling a ball and plate system

Sinaga, Erikson F. - Personal Name; Chee, Vahdat Astani - Personal Name;

The main purpose of this thesis is to build and control a Ball and Plate system. The system has the capability of balancing a ball on any given point on the table. To achieve this purpose the Ball and Plate system uses a touchscreen panel as its sensor to detect the position of the ball. The Ball and Plate system will be mechanically designed to be able to tilt in two axis. Two servo motors will act as the actuators to tilt the table. The system will be controlled by a closed loop Proportional-Integral-Derivative control which ensures the stability of the system.
